From December 7 to 9, the 8th Member Congress and 2023 Annual Academic Conference of the University Laboratory Research Committee of the Jiangsu Association of Higher Education, organized by the University Laboratory Research Committee of the Jiangsu Association of Higher Education and hosted by Soochow University, was successfully held in Suzhou. As the title sponsor of the conference, Shanghai Hanguang Technology (Group) Co., Ltd. was invited to attend the annual event.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Dong Lin, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Seventh Council. Li Xiaofeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Soochow University Committee and Vice President of Soochow University, delivered the welcome address. Speeches were also delivered by Liu Kexin, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Laboratory Management Branch of the China Association of Higher Education; Ding Tongyu, Deputy Director of the Science, Technology and Industry Division of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education; and Li Bin, Assistant President of Nanjing University.
Cheng Xunjian, Technical Director of Shanghai Hanguang Technology (Group) Co., Ltd., delivered a presentation titled “Key Considerations and Future Directions in University Laboratory Construction and Design.”
“Laboratories are the heart of modern universities.” With the substantial increase in investment in university laboratory construction in recent years, improving laboratory utilization and fully leveraging laboratories in major research projects have become key challenges in laboratory construction and management. Engineer Cheng emphasized that “scientific design delivers the greatest energy savings.” Laboratory construction should comprehensively consider research objectives, personnel, budgets, and future development needs to ensure rational design and create safer, more efficient, and more comfortable laboratory environments.
Shanghai Hanguang Technology set up an exhibition booth at the conference and held in-depth discussions with university representatives about challenges encountered during laboratory construction, receiving widespread recognition from attendees.
