On the morning of May 19, 2023, a grand groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Elkem Silicones Asia-Pacific Research and Innovation Center project. Zhang Yin, General Manager of Elkem Silicones (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.; Li Pei, Asia-Pacific R&D Director of Elkem; and Hou Haifeng, President of Shanghai Hanguang Technology (Group) Co., Ltd., attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

The Elkem Silicones Asia-Pacific Research and Innovation Center project includes nine laboratories: a silicone rubber laboratory, an RTV-1 laboratory, an RTV-2 laboratory, an emulsion laboratory, a release coating and pressure-sensitive adhesive laboratory, a 3D-printing silicone rubber laboratory, a carbon materials laboratory, a chemical analysis laboratory, and an open innovation laboratory, together with office and meeting areas.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, President Hou Haifeng, representing the project’s design and construction team, pledged that the company would strictly comply with national construction standards, technical specifications, and all applicable regulations. He also stated that the project would be completed in strict accordance with the tender requirements and supported by the company’s strong technical team. Hanguang will ensure that the project passes its initial quality inspection and is successfully completed on schedule.
The construction team responsible for this project has extensive experience and has successfully overcome numerous technical challenges over the years. Its completed projects have become exemplary benchmarks for construction standards within the industry.
